so as to have the life that is waiting for us."

What Makes Westside's Atlanta Yoga Teacher Training Unique?
Our Atlanta Yoga Teacher Training is unlike any other, offering the best resources, and experiences available. We offer live teaching experiences throughout the course, a comprehensive exploration of the yoga history, philosophy, and discipline, a community-focused approach to learning, and the most qualified mentors in the Southeast.

Our course leaders, Amber Barry and Rebecca Galla-Jones, are two of the most experienced yoga instructors in the Southeast. Together they have over 35 years of yoga experience, and over 5000 teaching hours since 2001.

Amber is the Founder of Westside Yoga. She initially found yoga while recovering from a near-fatal car crash, and used yoga to rehabilitate her body. She soon found that yoga not only helped her reclaim her strength and flexibility, but it also helped her manage chronic migraines, insomnia, depression, anxiety, drug dependency, and food addiction. She used yoga and an Ayurvedic diet to wean herself off of medication, manage her moods, sleep better, and has lived pain-free for almost two decades.

Amber is an expert in mindfulness, meditation, breath control and Ayurveda. She has studied and taught many yoga traditions, including Ashtanga, Anusara, Iyengar, and Hatha Yoga. In addition to teaching yoga, mindfulness, and meditation for 16 years, she also worked as a health coach and motivational speaker for over a decade. Recent speaking engagements include Knoll, Inc., Whole Foods, and Southeast Yoga Conference. She is married with three children, holds a Marketing and Management degree from University of Virginia and is a former marketing executive.

Rebecca Galla-Jones discovered yoga during  difficult transition period in her life. After livening in France for six years, she struggled upon her return to the States, and yoga helped ease her transition. She quickly became a devoted yoga practitioner, exploring a variety of traditions, including Vinyasa Flow and Ashtanga. Rebecca taught her first yoga class in 2004, and has been teaching at highly respected studios ever since.

Rebecca is an expert in anatomy and physiology, breath control, bandha engagement, energy management, chanting, Sanskrit, yoga for children, practice modification for medical needs, and yoga history. She is married with two children, and feels blessed to be a part Atlanta’s wonderful yoga teaching community. Rebecca believes that everyone should feel proud of their practice, regardless of their level or physical limitations.

With their combined experience, Rebecca and Amber bring a wealth of knowledge and experience to our Atlanta Yoga Teacher training. They both have lived and breathed yoga for many years, and have raised their children in the yogic traditions. Their commitment to the practice, and to building community, make our training program unlike any other.

What To Expect in our Atlanta Yoga Teacher Training

Taught in a small-group setting, our 200 Hour RYT Atlanta Yoga Teacher Training is open to practioners of all experience levels and backgrounds. It is the most amazing journey--opening doors to new aspects of the practice that are more beautiful than your ever imagined!

Community is essential to this journey, so we create a safe space for our trainees to be authentic, and get to know their peers. Each student has a study partner for the course, and we also work in small groups to gain valuable experience in teaching asana, breath control, meditation and more. You will make lifelong friends, and receive the support you need to feel successful in your journey to becoming a yoga teacher.

We are committed to making sure our graduates are ready to lead, so students have live opportunities to teach throughout the program--the best way to gain valuable experience that prepares them for graduation and beyond. Teaching practice begins the first weekend that we meet, to maximize the oppruntity to grow during training.

There are three required texts for the course, that support our trainings in yoga philosophy, anatomy, and the subtle body. Homework and recommended further study are provided at every meeting. Students work together in teams throughout the course to maximize the opportunity for growth in the practice, and make yoga a way of life.

During training, students may book the studio during open hours for teaching one hour classes to each other, as often as they would like. They will also have the opportunity to co-teach a live class in the studio during training, once they are ready to lead.

Fees and Requirements

The cost for the course is $2799, which includes unlimited classes at the studio during the course. Payments in full received before December 15, 2017 will receive $150 off of tuition. Payments must be made in cash or check. Textbooks must be purchased separately. Contact us at info@westsideyoga.net to apply!
